Kentucky will gain a Texas icon later this month, when Buc-ee’s opens a travel center in the state.
The new store is located in the central Kentucky city of Richmond, just outside of Lexington along Interstate 75, and will welcome customers beginning April 19, according to a news release.
Buc-ee’s, known for “the world’s cleanest bathrooms,” plans to expand to several other locations across the state.

The beloved Texas convenience store and gas station chain first ventured outside the Lone Star State in 2019 with its first travel center in Alabama. Buc-ee’s now has 52 stores across Texas, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
The new Kentucky location will be open 24-hours and be equipped with 120 fueling stations. The store will include Buc-ee’s favorites like Texas barbecue, kolaches and Beaver Nuggets. It is also expected to create 175 new jobs.
