From discounted rates to free nights with extended stays, Palm Beach hotels have launched their annual array of summer deals for what traditionally is a sluggish season.

But unlike most summers past, this one is setting up to be a busy one for hotels.

Travelers continue to flock to Palm Beach, in part because of Florida’s reputation for scant state-mandated COVID restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic and popular national media buzzing about “hip” Palm Beach being “rediscovered.”

The island’s hotels are fresh from a season where their occupancy and nightly rates exceeded pre-pandemic levels.

And the momentum continues, with area hotels selling 11 percent more rooms during the first half of May than the same period last year, according to Discover the Palm Beaches, the county’s tourism marketing agency.

Despite the bustling business, many Palm Beach hotels will once again offer specials for the summer. Many deals began earlier this month; others start Wednesday.
