Nebraska travel agency launches nonprofit to help Ukrainian refugees in Poland

“Operation Safe Harbor Ukraine” will provide hotels, food, and WIFI to refugees in Poland

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Executive Travel is launching “Operation Safe Harbor Ukraine” (OSHU) to help refugees fleeing the war.

The program will provide hotel rooms, food, medical supplies and Wi-Fi for the refugees in Poland.

Executive Travel will donate 100% of the proceeds to help those in need.  Chairman of the Board, Steve Glenn explained how Nebraskans are suited to meet this need.

“Nebraskans have great compassion and they care about people. We need to show Ukraine that we love them, we care for them, and this is putting that into action,” Glenn said.

Executive Travel is also pledging a matching donation of $25,000.  All donations are tax-exempt through a partnership with Heartland Bible Church.

Glenn says they can help over 200 Ukrainians in just one week.  He also says “It only takes 51 dollars a night for a hotel, food, and WIFI and that will cover four people.”

OSHU is partnering with Best Western to provide a hotel in Warsaw for those refugees and their families.

Glenn also explained this is part “A” of their project.  Part “B” is bringing refugees back to Lincoln.

After President Joe Biden announced the US would take 100,000 refugees, Executive Travel began to work to bring people here and give them lodging.

OSHU’s goal is to keep getting donations through the year to be able to continue providing this service and aid those in need.
