Two Northeast Florida hotels have made the U.S. News & World Report’s list of Florida’s best places to stay.

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island ranked 14th on the Best Hotels in Florida list, and the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club was 18th.

Acqualina Resort & Residences on the Beach in Sunny Isles Beach in South Florida finished first in the state and third in the nation on the 12th annual Best Hotels ranking.

Industry awards, hotel star ratings and user reviews were used to determine the ratings.

The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club also was second in the magazine’s ranking of the Best Pool Hotels in the U.S. The Cloister at Sea Island in Georgia was first in the Pool Hotel rankings, and 11 Florida properties made the top 25.

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island was ranked at number 16 on the magazine’s list of Best Golf Hotels in the U.S. The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club was number 21 on the list.

The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach ranked second on the list of Best Family Hotels in the U.S. The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club was eighth on the same list.

The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island and the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club were ranked numbers 1 and 2 on the list of Best Hotels in Jacksonville. The Lodge & Club at Ponte Vedra Beach, Omni Amelia Island Resort and One Ocean Resort & Spa rounded out the top 5 on the list.
