An 8-yr-aged boy vacationing in South Carolina was fatally shot when a man shooting randomly at passing cars struck his family’s car or truck, authorities said Tuesday.
Quarius Naqua Dunham, a third grader from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, was fatally wounded in the capturing Saturday in close proximity to Florence, the Florence County Sheriff’s Business office said.
Quarius’ father, who was driving the car or truck, was struck in the leg, the release reported. The boy was shot in his neck and pronounced lifeless at a local hospital Monday, NBC Boston noted.
Charles Montgomery Allen, 40, was arrested on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and other crimes, the sheriff’s business office said.
“Investigators allege that Allen fired several random rounds at passing vehicles,” the business reported. No motive has been decided.
In a assertion, Portsmouth Schools Superintendent Steve Zadravec mentioned Quarius — a third grader — was vacationing with his loved ones in South Carolina at the time of the taking pictures, according to NBC Boston.
